Australia’s 2008 Steel Guitar Awards next month in Brisbane -- 22/6/2008

Australia’s 2008 Steel Guitar Awards next month in Brisbane

Anyone who enjoyed last year’s international event will be back again this year.

Just over a month away this year’s awards look set for a resurgence in public appreciation with CMC filming a featured expose of players appearing on the concert billing. It’s a great weekend for every one who loves Steel Guitar, Country, Jazz, Hawaiian and the Dobro. If you love this genre, then you will have a great time seeing and hearing players from New Zealand, Australia and the USA.

The event also plays host to the Brisbane Steel Guitar Hall of Fame, proudly sponsored by 989fm Brisbane’s own 24 hour Country Music Station Two, and where two inductees who have contributed significantly to the Australian music industry steel guitar genre, are honoured each year.

Organisers urge patrons to come one and all, to tell your friends and make up a party for a great weekend here in the music heart of Queensland.
